More about this case
René Hasee disappeared during a family vacation at the beach in Aljezur, Portugal. The circumstances — a small child briefly out of sight in a tourist area — show structural similarities to later cases along the Algarve coast (Madeleine McCann 2007, Joana Cipriano 2004). No suspect has ever been formally designated. The investigation has been suspended and the case is a cold case.
